According to the National Summer Learning Association, under-resourced students lose about two months of grade-level equivalency in mathematical computation and more than two months in reading achievement, while their middle-class peers demonstrate summer learning gains. More than half of the achievement gap can be explained by unequal access to summer learning opportunities.

How does Achieve do it?

• We are completely tuition-free — this includes all food, transportation and programming.
• Our school buses bring students from across Boston neighborhoods to and from the Noble and Greenough School in Dedham. 
• We recruit top teachers and teaching assistants who are committed to helping students from Boston Public Schools.
• We take a holistic approach to educating our scholars — we recognize that social and emotional growth is just as critical as academic achievement. 
• We provide individualized academic intervention depending on the level of support needed by each student.  
• We like to have fun! We have a speaker series that brings in motivational role models who share their stories, we go on field trips to places like Kimball Farm and Xtreme Craze Inflatable Park and we offer a wide variety of enrichment classes.
